Noor, Bracewell and Voll secure top deals in The Hundred draft

Noor Ahmad and Michael Bracewell secured GBP 200,000 contracts in The Hundred draft on Wednesday (March 12). Ahmad, the left-arm wrist spinner from Afghanistan, was picked by Manchester Originals while Bracewell, New Zealand's newly-appointed T20I captain against Pakistan, was drafted by Southern Brave, who were last season's runners-up.

Georgia Voll, Jamie Overton, and David Warner were among other major signings. Voll, fresh off an unbeaten 99 in the Women's Premier League, was selected by Birmingham Phoenix. Overton sealed a lucrative GBP 200,000 deal with London Spirit, who also picked Warner for GBP 120,000. The veteran Australian opener, who wasn't picked in last year's draft, is set to make his Hundred debut this season.

England all-rounder David Willey (GBP 200,000 to Trent Rockets) and New Zealand's Rachin Ravindra (GBP 120,000 to Manchester Originals) also picked up lucrative deals. The draft also saw major retentions in the women's competition, with Paige Scholfield re-signing for Oval Invincibles on a GBP 65,000 deal.

Veteran pacer James Anderson went undrafted despite making himself available for the tournament.

With 66 players drafted across both competitions, the squads are now close to completion. Teams will have a final opportunity to bolster their rosters through the Wildcard Draft.

The Hundred kicks off on August 5, with London Spirit taking on Oval Invincibles at Lord's.
