According to sources, Rohit intends to prolong his ODI career till the 2027 World Cup, with a plan to remain fit and competitive for the African event. He will collaborate with Abhishek Nayar, the current assistant coach of the Indian team, to focus on his fitness, batting, and approach.

Rohit's future in Tests is still uncertain, with no decision made yet. His recent performances in the five-day format have not been impressive, prompting him to drop himself from the XI for the Test in Sydney. However, he intends to continue playing in both Test and ODI formats, with his upcoming IPL season performance likely to influence the selectors' decision.
