Afghanistan, Bangladesh in Talks for T20I Series in October

Afghanistan is set to host Bangladesh for a three-match T20I series in October 2025, after a proposed series was postponed multiple times.

Series Aimed at T20 World Cup Preparation

The series is intended to aid both teams in preparation for the 2026 T20 World Cup, to be held in India and Sri Lanka.

Discussions Underway

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials have started discussions with the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) regarding the series, with a focus on finalizing the date and itinerary.

Series Window

The series is likely to be held in early October, with a window available from October 2-12, as per the FTP.

Previous Tour Postponements

Afghanistan was initially scheduled to host Bangladesh for two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is in July 2024, but the tour was postponed due to workload management concerns. A subsequent proposal for a white-ball series in July-August at Greater Noida also failed to materialize.
