Devine, Kerr, Tahuhu Return for Australia Three-Match T20I Series

Sophie Devine, Amelia Kerr, and Lea Tahuhu have been named in the New Zealand squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Australia, starting March 21. Suzie Bates will continue as interim captain following the 1-1 series draw against Sri Lanka. Isabella Gaze remains out due to a hip flexor sprain.

  • Sophie Devine (35) returns after taking a break in January to prioritize her well-being. She missed the Dream11 Super Smash, Women's Premier League, and the recent Sri Lanka series.
  • Amelia Kerr returns after playing for Mumbai Indians in the WPL. Her last appearance for New Zealand was in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa in Dubai.
  • Lea Tahuhu is back after recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in December.

Bella James and Polly Inglis have been added to the squad, replacing Emma McLeod, Izzy Sharp, Flora Devonshire, and Bree Illing.

Head coach Ben Sawyer expressed excitement about the trio's return:
"We're thrilled to have Soph, Melie, and Lea back. They bring invaluable experience and leadership. Sophie is in a great space to return, and we're looking forward to a competitive series."

The series will be played in Auckland, Tauranga, and Wellington as part of a double-header with the men's T20I series against Pakistan.
