Bumrah back at the NCA amid renewed optimism of a quick return

Jasprit Bumrah has returned to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to assess his readiness for the upcoming IPL. This is his second visit in a short span, with the first visit resulting in some pain and discomfort during bowling. NCA managers recommended specific exercises and advised him to return later.

Key Points:

• Bumrah's availability for the IPL is still uncertain.
• If he feels comfortable and pain-free during bowling, he could be cleared to play.
• It is likely he will miss Mumbai Indians' first two games.
• Coach Mahela Jayawardene expressed optimism about Bumrah's progress, stating he is in good spirits.

Sanju Samson Update:

• Will return to the NCA next month for clearance.
• Currently has partial clearance (allowed to bat, not yet cleared to keep wicket).
• Rajasthan Royals have decided to use him solely as an impact player, with Riyan Parag taking over as captain for the first three games.
