James Pamment appointed Bangladesh fielding coach until 2027 World Cup

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Monday (April 7) confirmed the appointment of James Pamment as the national team's fielding coach until the ICC ODI World Cup in October-November 2027.

Pamment will join the squad ahead of the upcoming Test series against Zimbabwe later this month, replacing the outgoing Nic Pothas.

"I am really excited about the opportunity to get involved with a very talented Bangladesh side. I am eagerly looking forward to joining the players and the backroom staff ahead of the Zimbabwe series," Pamment said.

Born in England, the 56-year-old is based in New Zealand and represented Auckland in first-class cricket.

He has extensive coaching experience, having worked as Assistant Coach and fielding specialist with the Mumbai Indians. Pamment also served as Head Coach of the Northern District Cricket Association for five years, and held multiple roles with New Zealand Cricket, including Fielding Resource Coach and Specialist Technical Advisor for the national, A, and Under-19 sides.
