Cricket Set to Make Olympic Return at LA 2028

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has approved a six-team competition for both men's and women's cricket at the LA 2028 Olympics. Each gender will have a total of 90 athlete quotas, allowing nations to name a 15-member squad.

The selection process for the six participating nations remains unclear, with representation issues still to be addressed for Great Britain and the West Indies.

Cricket's Olympic history dates back to 1900, when Great Britain and France contested the only cricket event to date, with Great Britain emerging victorious.

Recent appearances in international multi-sport events include the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, which featured an eight-team women's competition.
