Abhishek Nayar's Influence on Rohit Sharma's Resurgence

Rohit Sharma's recent success may be attributed to the influence of Abhishek Nayar, the former assistant coach of the Indian team. Nayar has been working with Rohit before being reappointed by the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Collaboration Continues

Rohit and Nayar have been collaborating for a while now, and their partnership has continued into the ongoing IPL season. Rohit was spotted working with Nayar at the Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) BKC facility the day before his impactful 26 against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 17.

Recent Performances

Rohit followed up that brisk knock with a typically graceful and yet a whirlwind, unbeaten 76 at the Wankhede against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday (April 20) night. He posted an acknowledgement to Nayar on Instagram Stories after the match.

Sources Confirm Ongoing Collaboration

Sources close to Rohit and Nayar confirm that their collaboration has been ongoing, both prior to and during the current IPL season. Rohit is reportedly working with Nayar to improve his fitness and batting ahead of the 2027 World Cup.

Nayar's Expertise Endorsed by Current Players

Nayar's expertise is endorsed by many current players, including Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, apart from Rohit. Rahul has publicly praised Nayar for his help in improving his white-ball game.

Rahul's Shout-out to Nayar

KL Rahul gave a shout-out to Nayar after a match-winning knock for Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam recently. "Big shout out to Abhishek Nayar. I've worked a lot with him ever since he's come into the Indian team," Rahul said.
