Abhinav Manohar Plots a Fresh Start After Illness and IPL Struggles

Abhinav Manohar, a 30-year-old Karnataka batter, is looking to make a fresh start after a challenging IPL 2025 season with Sunrisers Hyderabad. He spent the off-season recovering from jaundice and a viral fever, which forced him to miss out on a holiday and training.

A Season of Struggle

Manohar's IPL 2025 season was marked by struggles to find his rhythm in a star-studded batting lineup. He managed only 128 runs in 9 innings at a strike rate of 125, underwhelming returns for a natural six-hitter. Despite this, he remains optimistic and is focusing on rebuilding his form and confidence.

Lessons from the Past

Manohar's time at Gujarat Titans in 2022 was a learning experience, where he picked up valuable lessons from Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan. He recalls how Pandya emphasized the importance of maintaining a straight mindset, regardless of the situation, and how Khan taught him to back himself even when under pressure.

A New Chapter

Manohar is now looking to move forward and is interested in playing red-ball cricket. He has spoken to the Ranji coaches and is eager to make a switch from white-ball cricket. However, he knows that it won't be easy and will require a lot of hard work and dedication.

Current Focus

Manohar's current focus is on rebuilding his form and confidence in the Maharaja Trophy. He is working on his fitness and is determined to stay healthy and fit. His short-term goal is to score a red-ball hundred, while his long-term goal is to do well in the IPL.

A Positive Mindset

Despite the challenges he has faced, Manohar remains positive and is determined to enjoy the game. He believes in backing himself and is focused on staying fit and healthy. His mantra is to "keep backing myself, and enjoy the game."
