BCB Elections Set for Early October Amid Conflict of Interest Concerns

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that the upcoming elections will be held in the first week of October. The exact date will be confirmed by the election commission.

Conflict of Interest Concerns

Current BCB President Aminul Islam is considering to run for the board's presidency in the upcoming election, sparking controversy. BCB vice-president Nazmul Abedin clarified that Aminul will seek the board's approval before finalizing the election commission.

BCB Appointments

  • BCB has approved IMG as the sports marketing consulting firm for Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for three years.
  • A four-member committee has been formed to review the recommendation submitted by BPL fact-finding committee.
  • Former umpire Simon Taufel has been appointed in an advisory role for two years to assess, evaluate, and grade the umpires.
  • An international standard batting programme will be hosted in September with top batting coaches present to conduct a skill programme for local coaches.
  • A level-3 coaching course will be organized in Bangladesh, conducted by Australian educators like Ashley Ross.

Other Developments

  • Julian Wood's contract will not be extended beyond September 3, but he can be brought back if needed later.
