Salma Khatun will work alongside Shipon, the chief selector for the women's side.

Background on Salma Khatun
Salma Khatun was named ICC's best bowler and top all-rounder in 2014-2015. She captained Bangladesh from 2008 to 2015 and has been a pillar of women's cricket in the country.

BCB's Decision
The appointment is considered revolutionary, providing great support for women's cricket in Bangladesh. Iftekhar Rahman Mithu, chairman of BCB's media committee, said:

The inclusion of Salma Khatun will provide great support for women's cricket… It's the first time such an appointment has been made in Bangladesh.
