Jadeja for Samson: CSK, RR in advanced talks for trade

Ravindra Jadeja for Sanju Samson — once considered far-fetched — is now under active negotiation between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. While not yet finalized, both teams are seriously pursuing the trade.

Both Jadeja and Samson are INR 18 crore players, but Rajasthan Royals are not agreeable to a straight swap. They are insisting on the inclusion of another player, which may become a sticking point.

The deal-breaker appears to be RR's demand for Dewald Brevis, the South African batter who joined CSK midway through last season and has since excelled in franchise cricket globally.

Manoj Badale, lead owner of Rajasthan Royals, is heading negotiations from Mumbai. However, CSK are firm in their stance — they do not intend to include another player, especially Brevis.

CSK believe giving up Jadeja — one of the world's top cricketers — is already a significant concession. The franchise consulted the 36-year-old all-rounder before starting trade talks. Currently, the ball is in RR's court.

RR have also reached out to other franchises, including Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, Sunrisers are not keen on Samson, as they already have three established openers: Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan. They have no intention of parting with Kishan or Heinrich Klaasen.
