Tickner unlikely to play any further part in second WI Test

Blair Tickner will not bowl or take the field for New Zealand for the remainder of the second Test against West Indies. He is also unlikely to bat after dislocating his shoulder on Day 1 at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.

During the day's play, Tickner had led the New Zealand attack perfectly and was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 32. But, in the 67th over, he dived at fine-leg in an attempt to save a boundary. He immediately signalled for help, prompting teammates and medical staff to rush to his aid before he was taken off the field to warm applause from the home crowd.

Tickner will join the New Zealand squad at the ground after he was taken as he awaits further specialist assessment to determine the next steps on his return to play.
