Khaled Mahmud, pace coach Talha leave Noakhali Express training over management issues

Khaled Mahmud, former Bangladesh captain and Noakhali Express head coach, walked out of his team's training session at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday, citing displeasure over management.

Mahmud, who was accompanied by pace bowling coach Talha, insisted he would not continue as head coach of the franchise.

"I will not do the BPL under any circumstances," Mahmud told reporters. "I have never seen this in the BPL."

Talha echoed the sentiment: "I don't want to work. I don't know about you, Sujon (Mahmud) bhai, but I am not working."

Cricbuzz understands there were not enough balls for the practice session. Mahmud was utterly disappointed and had an altercation with the Noakhali Express owner, who reportedly misbehaved with him when the issue was raised.

The incident happened hours after the BCB took ownership rights of Chattogram Royals, a move that surprised the BPL governing council.

BPL governing council member Iftekhar Rahman commented on the situation: "As far as Noakhali is concerned, what I heard is their plane hasn't arrived carrying the balls and other things. If they had asked the BPL governing council, we would have given them 10 balls, but having said that, this means they are unprofessional."

He added: "At least they (Noakhali) paid 25 percent of players' payment."
