VHT: Padikkal cracks fourth ton; Pandya fireworks in vain
On a day he was left out of India's ODI squad, Axar Patel hit a 111-ball 130 to guide Gujarat to a seven-run victory against Andhra. The allrounder smashed five sixes and 10 boundaries in his knock, setting a total of 318/9. Despite opener CR Gnaneshwar's century, Andhra fell just short.
Priyansh Arya (72* off 45) and Rishabh Pant (67* off 37) were the batting stars for Delhi as they chased down Services' 179 in under 20 overs. The duo added 78 runs in 41 deliveries, hitting nine sixes and 13 boundaries between them to seal the win in 19.4 overs.
After Arshdeep Singh set Punjab up for an easy win, Prabhsimran Singh smashed a 26-ball 53 not out to secure a 10-wicket win over Sikkim. He hit five sixes and four boundaries, helping Punjab chase 76 in just 6.2 overs.
Arshin Kulkarni made a run-a-ball 114, with 11 boundaries and three sixes, to set the base for Maharashtra's 366/4 against Mumbai. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad added a 52-ball 66, while Ramakrishna Ghosh provided a 27-ball 64 not out with five sixes.
Sammar Gajjar put on a one-man show with a 135-ball 147 to set up Saurashtra's 31-run win against Railways, despite Ashutosh Sharma's 45-ball 65 in the chase. The centurion added partnerships of 111 with Hetvik Kotak and 66 with Chirag Jani to propel his side to 294/8.
Pukhraj Mann's 134 off 121 balls went in vain as Chhattisgarh chased down Himachal Pradesh's 320/8 with two balls to spare. Mann, who came in at 32/2, put on a 178-run partnership with Innesh Mahajan (95), hitting 11 boundaries and two sixes.
Goa opener Snehal Kauthankar's 105 was trumped by Aanjaneya Suryavanshi's 115* off 87 balls as Uttarakhand chased 271 with 3.4 overs to spare. Uttarakhand were 83/3 before Suryavanshi combined with Shashwat Dangwal (70 off 70) in a 191-run partnership.
Parth Vats' 157 not out saw Haryana script a thrilling four-wicket win over Odisha. Opener Swastik Samal made 101, aided by Govinda Poddar's 77, to set a 306-run target. Haryana were 14/3 before Vats, with Anuj Thakral (59* off 48), guided them home with eight balls left.
Devdutt Padikkal smashed his fourth century in five Vijay Hazare Trophy matches, setting up Karnataka's 80-run win over Tripura. Following scores of 147, 124, 22, and 113, his 120-ball effort helped post 332/7. Tripura fell short despite Swapnil Singh's 93-ball 100 at No. 7.
Hardik Pandya's 133 went in vain as Aman Mokhade's 150 not out guided Vidarbha to a nine-wicket win over Baroda. Pandya smashed 11 sixes and eight boundaries in a 92-ball effort for 293/9. Mokhade shared stands of 127 with Atharva Taide (65) and 169* with Dhruv Shorey (65*) to chase it in 42 overs.
Skipper Tilak Varma's 109 gave Hyderabad a winning 286/9, top-scoring in a 136-run victory against Chandigarh. He added a 114-run stand with Abhirath Reddy (71) to set a 250-plus total, defended comfortably by the bowlers.
Sanju Samson (101 off 95) and skipper Rohan Kunnummal (124 off 78) shared a 212-run opening stand to chase 312, setting up an eight-wicket win for Kerala. This bettered Kumar Kushagra's 143* and Anukul Roy's 72 that gave Jharkhand a fighting total.
Abhimanyu Easwaran's 102 helped set up Bengal's 85-run win over Assam. His 116-ball effort included 10 boundaries and formed the backbone of Bengal's 302/7, which proved too much for Assam.
Uttar Pradesh maintained their winning streak courtesy of Sameer Rizvi's 45-ball 80 not out, with five sixes and six boundaries, propelling them to 322/5. He was aided by Dhruv Jurel's 55 off 62 balls.
Harshit Rana's 4 for 47 was instrumental in Delhi dismantling Services. Rana, aided by Prince Yadav (3 for 28), ran through the top and middle order to restrict Services to 178.
Arshdeep Singh ran through the Sikkim order to bowl them out for 75. The Punjab pacer finished with 5 for 34 in 10 overs to set up a net run rate-boosting win.
Varun Chakravarthy's 4 for 25 in 10 overs was in vain as Tamil Nadu failed to chase 226 against Rajasthan. Instead, Ashok Sharma's 5 for 58 scripted a 10-run win for Rajasthan in a low-scoring encounter.
