Impressive Afghanistan topple West Indies
After beating South Africa in their opening game, Afghanistan took yet another gigantic stride by beating West Indies by 138 runs in Windhoek. Osman Sadat (88) and skipper Mahboob Khan (86) took Afghanistan to 262 for 6. Mahboob Khan blitzed 86 off just 69 deliveries, with 10 fours and two sixes. Jakeem Pollard and Vitel Lawes took three wickets each.
In reply, Wahidullah Zadran removed the openers cheaply and bowled captain Joshua Dorne for a duck, reducing West Indies to 21 for 3. Jewel Andrew fought with 57, but lacked support. Nooristani Omarzai took 4 for 16, and Khatir Stanikzai took three wickets as Afghanistan secured a commanding win.
England maul Zimbabwe
Hosts Zimbabwe were mauled by England in Harare. England bowled first, restricting Zimbabwe to 208 for 9. Manny Lumsden took 3 for 38, supported by Ralphie Albert and Farhan Ahmed. After an early wicket, contributions from Kian Blignaut (33), Dhruv Patel (36), Tatenda Chimugoro (30), and Simbarashe Mudzengerere (45*) helped Zimbabwe to a respectable total.
In reply, captain Thomas Rew (86*) and Ben Mayes (77*) put on an unbroken 167-run partnership for the third wicket. Both scored at over a run-a-ball, hitting four sixes each, as England won by eight wickets with 22 overs to spare.
New Zealand vs USA abandoned due to rain
In Bulawayo, the match between New Zealand and USA was abandoned after rain interrupted play following just one over of the second innings.
USA, batting first, collapsed to 40 for 5 against Flynn Morey (4 for 40) and Mason Clarke (3 for 55). Nitish Sudini rescued the innings with an unbeaten 117, supported by Shiv Shani (33) and Adit Kappa (40), guiding USA to 253 for 9.
New Zealand's reply lasted only one over, in which Hugo Bogue hit a four and a six off Rishabh Shimpi before rain set in. Persistent showers led to the match being called off.
