Zachary Carter's ton, Shaquan Belle's six-fer help WI beat SA

Led by half-centuries from Freddie Ogilby and Sebastian Djikstra, Ireland secured a hard-fought four-wicket win over Japan and secured their qualification to the next round.

Japan posted 247 for 9 after opting to bat, a total which was overhauled with only 12 balls to spare. Charles Hinze top-scored with 57. There were also handy contributions from Skyler Cook (37-ball 30) and Gabriel Hinze (29-ball 44) lower down the order. Adam Heckey and Oliver Riley led the way with the ball, picking three wickets apiece.

In response, even as Ogilby and Adam Heckey put on a 95-run stand, Ireland could never find themselves in a commanding position. Japan kept striking at regular intervals before Dijkstra helped them over the line.

Brief Scores: Japan 247/9 (Charles Hinze 57, Gabriel Hinze 44; Adam Heckey 3-44, Oliver Riley 3-52) lost to Ireland 248/6 in 48 overs (Freddie Ogilby 73, Sebastian Djikstra 55*; Timothy Moore 2-30) by 4 wickets

Nathaneil Hlabangana's 59 went in vain as Pakistan cruised to a comfortable eight-wicket win over Zimbabwe. Even as the hosts ended their group stage without a victory, they qualified for the next round at the back of a superior Net Run Rate.

Put in to bat, Zimbabwe were cleaned up for 128 within 36 overs, despite Hlabangana's half-century. Ali Raza and Mohammad Sayyam's early burst reduced Zimbabwe to 35 for 4 within 10 overs. Even as Hlabangana tried to revive the innings, he kept running short of partners, with only two other batters managing double digit scores.

In response, Pakistan broke little sweat in the chase, overhauling the total in only 26.2 overs despite losing opener Ali Baloch early. Sameer Manhas blazed away to an unbeaten 75-ball 74, cracking six boundaries and three sixes. He got support from Usman Khan and Ahmed Hussain.

Brief Scores: Zimbabwe 128 in 35.5 overs (Nathaniel Hlabangana; Ali Raza 3-16, Abdul Subhan 2-14) lost to Pakistan 132-2 in 26.2 overs (Sameer Minhas 74; Panashe Mazai 1-36) by 8 wickets

Zachary Carter's 114 and Shaquan Belle's six-fer paved the way for West Indies' comfortable 55-run win over South Africa, their second victory in the group stage.

Opting to bat, West Indies were bowled out for 234. Barring Carter, none of the other batters made any significant impact. However, Carter's innings, which was laced with 8 boundaries and as many sixes, helped West Indies post a healthy total despite JJ Basson's fifer.

South Africa too couldn't find that rhythm with their batting as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. The most impactful of the counterattacks came from Jason Rowles, who blazed away to a 40-ball 46. Belle struck six wickets as South Africa were bowled out in the 38th over.

Brief Scores: West Indies 234 in 47.5 overs (Zachary Carter 114; JJ Basson 5-23) beat South Africa 179 in 37.4 overs (Jason Rowles 46; Shaquan Belle 6-40) by 55 runs
