Jemimah Rodrigues fined for slow over-rate in loss to GG

Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues has been fined for slow over-rate in her team's last-over defeat against Gujarat Giants at the BCA Stadium, Vadodara on Tuesday. This was Jemimah's first over-rate offence, leading to a fine of INR 12 Lakh.

After two successive wins last week, Rodrigues's team lost ground in the race to the playoffs with a three-run defeat to the Giants.

DC conceded 174/9, with 15 runs coming off the final over. They had a shaky start to the chase before a seventh-wicket partnership offered hope, taking the match to the last over. Sophie Devine, hit for runs in the 17th over, held her nerve in the 20th to secure a narrow win for Gujarat Giants.

DC's campaign now hinges on their final league match against UP Warriorz on February 1.
