Gujarat captain Manan Hingrajia batted time in Agartala, finishing the opening day two short of a century (98*) from 255 balls. He forged partnerships of 132 with Jaymeet Patel (69 off 120) and 94 with Piyush Patel (52 off 76), guiding his team to 267 for 7 against Tripura.
Chhattisgarh saw Prateek Yadav (106 off 99) and Vikalp Tiwari (94 off 143) counter-attack, but the team was bowled out for 283 against Hyderabad.
