T20 World Cup warm-up: Jagadeesan slams 55-ball 104; Afghanistan start with win

Narayan Jagadeesan's 55-ball 104 set the stage for India A to earn a 38-run victory over the United States. He was supported by Tilak Varma (38 off 24) and captain Ayush Badoni (60 off 26) as India A posted 238/3.

In reply, the USA fought hard through Andries Gous (44) and Sanjay Krishnamurthi (41), reaching 200. For India A, Ravi Bishnoi took 3/37, while Naman Dhir claimed 2/6 in just four deliveries.

Brief Scores: India A 238/3 in 20 overs (N Jagadeesan 104, Ayush Badoni 60) beat USA 200 in 19.4 overs (Andries Gous 44, Sanjay Krishnamurthi 41; Ravi Bishnoi 3-37) by 38 runs.


In the opening warm-up, Afghanistan comfortably beat Scotland by 61 runs in Bengaluru. Darwish Rasooli led the charge with 84, smashing seven fours and five sixes, supported by Ibrahim Zadran (36). Afghanistan posted 184/6.

A collective bowling effort, led by Azamatullah Omarzai's 3/14, then bowled Scotland out for 123. Their highest score was 21, shared by Michael Jones and Matthew Cross.

Brief Scores: Afghanistan 184/6 in 20 overs (Darwish Rasooli 84, Ibrahim Zadran 36) beat Scotland 123 in 19.3 overs (Matthew Cross 21, Michael Jones 21; Azmatullah Omarzai 3-14) by 61 runs.


Italy emerged victorious in a tight contest against Canada by 10 runs. Chasing 157, Canada were well-placed at 100/2 but faltered to finish on 146/6.

Captain Dilpreet Bajwa top-scored with 37 for Canada. Earlier, JJ Smuts top-scored for Italy with 49 off 37 balls.

Brief Scores: Italy 156/4 in 20 overs (JJ Smuts 49) beat Canada 146/6 in 20 overs (Dilpreet Bajwa 37) by 10 runs.
