Warner, Hendricks help Karachi Kings end round-robin phase with a win
Captain David Warner's unbeaten 89 led Karachi Kings to a nine-wicket win over Quetta Gladiators in their final PSL 2026 round-robin match at Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday.
Chasing 196, Jason Roy and Warner put on a 58-run opening stand. Warner smashed Abrar Ahmed for three fours and a six in the fifth over. After Roy departed in the Powerplay, Reeza Hendricks joined Warner to steer the chase. Warner raised his fifty during a 16-run over from Usman Tariq.
The duo added a 100-run stand. With 34 needed off the last four overs, Hendricks smashed Alzarri Joseph for three sixes and a four in the 17th over. Hendricks sealed the chase with a boundary, finishing unbeaten on 87 off 48 balls. Warner remained 89* off 48.
Earlier, Rilee Rossouw's 90 helped Quetta post 195/6 after being asked to bat first. Hasan Ali removed openers Shamyl Hussain and Khawaja Nafay for ducks in the first over. Rossouw and skipper Saud Shakeel counter-punched, taking Quetta to 58/2 at the end of the Powerplay. Their partnership swelled to 148, with both batters passing fifty.
Rizwanullah broke the partnership by dismissing Shakeel, before Abbas Afridi removed Rossouw for 90. Dinesh Chandimal finished unbeaten on a 17-ball 30, but 195 proved insufficient.
Quetta end their campaign with three wins from 10 outings, out of the playoffs race. The Kings now depend on other results to qualify for the playoffs.
