Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli named in squad for England ODIs
Jasprit Bumrah has returned to India's ODI squad for the upcoming series against England, while veteran batter Virat Kohli has also been named, subject to fitness clearance.
The 32-year-old pace spearhead was rested for both the one-off Test and the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan. Kohli suffered a hamstring injury in the IPL 2026 final and was ruled out of the Afghanistan series. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who replaced Kohli in that squad, has not been picked for the England tour.
The squad for the three-match ODI series serves as a continuation of India's build-up to the 2027 World Cup. It also marks the return of Harshit Rana, who impressed against New Zealand earlier this year before being sidelined by a knee injury requiring surgery. He was recently added to the squad for the final ODI against Afghanistan.
Axar Patel has been brought into the squad in place of Harsh Dubey. There remains no place for Ravindra Jadeja, with Washington Sundar continuing as the spin-bowling all-rounder.
There is no national team return for Hardik Pandya, who was initially selected for the Afghanistan ODIs but suffered a setback during rehabilitation. Gurnoor Brar has retained his place, while Prince Yadav makes way for Harshit Rana.
