Suzie Bates: An era-defining legacy in numbers

The defeat to England at the Women's T20 World Cup of 2026 ended Suzie Bates' 20-year international career. She represented New Zealand 370 times across WODIs and WT20Is, making her the second-most capped female international in history. She is the all-time leading run-scorer in Women's T20Is and the second-highest run-getter across all formats.

Bates debuted in ODI in 2006 against India. She had the third-longest (20y 73d) career in Women's ODIs, behind Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami.

5982 runs in 184 ODIs – fourth-most in Women's ODIs. Bates has 13 hundreds, tied with Laura Wolvaardt and behind only Meg Lanning (15) and Smriti Mandhana (14). Her strike-rate of 79.42 is the second-highest among batters with 5000+ ODI runs.
