Sanju Samson: Battling Through Doubts to Redefine His Career

Sanju Samson's recent form in T20Is has been a testament to his hard work and dedication. He hit his second consecutive T20I hundred against South Africa, scoring 107 off 50 balls, and 111 against Bangladesh in Hyderabad last month, off 47 deliveries. His strike rates of 214.00 and 236.17 are a clear reflection of his ability to take the game away.

But Samson's journey to this point has not been without its challenges. He has been shunted up and down the order, batting in each of the top seven positions, and has had to deal with the pressure of not playing for India for four-and-a-half years after his debut in 2015.

He credits his supporting captain and teammates, including Surya, Gautam bhai, and Laxman sir, for helping him through his failures. He reveals that they have been instrumental in communicating with him during his negative phases, offering valuable advice on how to improve.

Samson's calm and collected demeanor belies the inner struggles he has faced. He has felt the sting of failure, wondering if he was made for international level. But he has now found his confidence and is contributing to the team.
