South African Fast Bowler Anrich Nortje Ruled Out of Pakistan Series

Anrich Nortje, the 31-year-old South African fast bowler, has been ruled out of the remaining T20I series against Pakistan and the following three-match ODI series due to a fracture in his left toe.

Replacement Named

Dayyaan Galiem, an uncapped all-rounder, has been named as Nortje's replacement. Galiem has a strong T20 record, having picked up 46 wickets in 60 games.

Nortje's Injury History

Nortje has not played for South Africa since the ICC Men's T20 World Cup final in June, where he was the highest wicket-taker for his nation with 15 scalps. He has also opted out of a national contract with South Africa due to workload management.

South Africa's Injury List

Nortje is the fifth South African bowler to be ruled out due to injury. The others include:

  • Gerald Coetzee (groin injury)
  • Nandre Burger (lower back stress fracture)
  • Lungi Ngidi (hip injury)
  • Wiaan Mulder (broken finger)
