India's Disappointment in Australia Series

Smriti Mandhana admitted that the 0-3 defeat in the three-match series against Australia was a huge disappointment for the team.

Series Dominance by Australia

Australia dominated proceedings in the series, with India's fielding and batting not clicking as a team. The stunning collapse in the third ODI, where India fell from 165-2 to 215 all out, was a perfect summation of the series.

Fielding Concerns

India's fielding came under scrutiny throughout the series, with the team letting Australia off the hook in Perth. Mandhana accepted the blips on the field and sounded upbeat about getting better in this department.

Reddy's Exceptional Spell

Arundhati Reddy stood out with an exceptional spell of seam bowling, taking 4-26 in her first game of the series. She showed no signs of rust or nerves and prised out big scalps.

Tactics and Decisions

The decision to open with Richa Ghosh in the final two ODIs raised eyebrows, but Mandhana gave nothing away when asked if this was the option going forward.

Belief and Intent

Mandhana maintained that her team always had the intent and confidence to get across the line, although the results didn't go their way. "We don't doubt that we can compete, there is no point playing the game if we don't have the belief."
