Parvez Hossain Emon Elated to Surpass Idol Tamim Iqbal's Record
Parvez Hossain Emon, a young cricketer from Chattogram, has surpassed his idol Tamim Iqbal's record by scoring a century in 53 balls against UAE. This achievement is a testament to his aggressive mindset and power-hitting abilities.
Emon, who grew up watching Tamim, was aware of his record and tried to emulate his style. "I was well aware of Tamim bhai's record," he said. "I try to watch all his games. Alhamdulliah, I am feeling good as I scored a century."
Despite his brilliant innings, Bangladesh's total was limited due to a batting collapse. However, Emon's century was a highlight of the match. "When the wickets were falling I just tried not to change my intent and I was always waiting to play to my strengths," he said.
Bangladesh's skipper Litton Das praised Emon's innings, saying "The wicket was very good for batting and the way Emon batted was outstanding." However, he also acknowledged that there is room for improvement, saying "We have to finish better. We couldn't score much in the last three overs."
The bowling unit, led by Hasan Mahmud, Mustafizur Rahman, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib, did an impressive job in restricting UAE to 164. Litton praised his bowlers, saying "I always know my bowlers can bounce back at any time. I trust our bowling unit."
Bangladesh will take on UAE in the series-deciding second game on May 19.
