Brandon King joins Barbados Royals

Brandon King, one of the Caribbean Premier League's (CPL) most consistent batters, has moved from Antigua & Barbuda Falcons to Barbados Royals ahead of the 2025 season.

King has scored 1837 runs in the tournament, including two seasons of 400-plus tally and was the player of the season in 2022 when he powered Jamaica Tallawahs to the CPL title.

In a trade deal, Obed McCoy and Rakheem Cornwall head to Antigua & Barbados Royals lose the services of Cornwall, who has scored 1347 runs in the tournament at a strike rate of 150. He has also picked 35 wickets. After three seasons at Royals, Cornwall returns to his home franchise.

McCoy, a left-arm fast bowler, has previously represented Saint Lucia Kings besides the Royals. He has 56 wickets in 52 CPL outings, with his best season in 2022 where he bagged 15 wickets for the Royals.
