Shreyas Iyer Credits Captaincy for Maturity and Responsibility

Shreyas Iyer has been thriving in his role as captain, leading Punjab Kings to the IPL 2025 final and guiding Sobo Mumbai Falcons to the semifinals of the T20 Mumbai League.

"It brings in a lot of maturity and responsibility," Iyer said, reflecting on the impact of captaincy on his game. With speculation surrounding his potential as India's next white ball captain, Iyer remains focused on his performance.

"I just try to get into my zone and do things which are there in front of me," he said, discussing his approach to handling high-pressure moments. "I try to stay focused as much as possible, just to stay in the present, embrace the situation, and the crowd."

Iyer has been in good form, scoring over 600 runs in the IPL, and is now leading Sobo Mumbai Falcons in the T20 Mumbai League. His side has won four out of five games, making the last-four stage.

The semi-finals and final of the T20 Mumbai League will be played at the Wankhede on Tuesday and Thursday respectively.
