Afghanistan Appoint New Fielding Coach and Physiotherapist

John Mooney Returns as Fielding Coach

John Mooney, a former Ireland international, has been appointed as the new fielding coach of the Afghanistan national team. Mooney previously worked with Afghanistan from 2018 to 2019 and has represented Ireland in 91 international matches.

Nirmalan Thanabalasingam Joins as Physiotherapist

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has also appointed Australian Nirmalan Thanabalasingam as their new physiotherapist. Thanabalasingam has a strong educational and professional background in physiotherapy and sports science, and has experience working with various international teams.

Afghanistan's Preparation for Upcoming Tournaments

Afghanistan is currently undergoing a training and preparation camp in Abu Dhabi as they prepare for the tri-nation T20I series and the ACC Men's T20I Asia Cup 2025.
