Gill arrives in Bhubaneswar on Sunday night, all set for comeback

Shubman Gill arrived in Bhubaneswar on Sunday night. The India T20I vice-captain landed around 9 pm and is set for a comeback in international cricket, having missed the two Tests and three ODIs against South Africa.

Gill was initially a conditional selection for the five-match T20 series starting in Cuttack on December 9, pending fitness clearance. He has now fully recovered from the neck injury sustained during the first Test against South Africa in Kolkata last month.

India coach Gautam Gambhir confirmed Gill's readiness, stating, "Yes, Shubman is ready to start. That's why he has been selected. He is fit, fine, and hungry to go."

Most players from the India and South Africa squads arrived in Bhubaneswar on Sunday morning via a chartered flight from Visakhapatnam. Gill arrived later as he was not part of the ODI squad.

Local media reported that Hardik Pandya had a closed-door practice session at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday evening. He was among the first to arrive in the city.
