India batter Shubman Gill has been traveling with a personal water purifier as part of his fitness routine, according to team sources. They clarified this practice is not new and is not limited to the team's current stop in Indore for the third ODI against New Zealand.

The use of such purifiers is common among top athletes across various sports. However, it is not confirmed if other cricketers are using similar equipment in Indore.

This routine reportedly began after Gill's recovery from dengue, emphasizing strict hydration standards. The machine further treats drinking water, including bottled or RO-filtered water.

The purifier, installed in Gill's Indore hotel room, gained attention following a recent local incident where contaminated water was linked to 23 fatalities, sparking national concern. In such contexts, extra caution by elite athletes is not unusual.

Sources indicate the purifier has become a permanent fixture for Gill. The Indian team management has not issued an official statement on the matter.
