Hardik Pandya's IPL 2026 Wishlist: A Sixth Title and a Lasting Legacy

Hardik Pandya stated his ultimate dream is to lift a sixth IPL title for Mumbai Indians, while also building a legacy defined by passion and hard work.

"The ultimate dream is to win the IPL for the sixth time," the Mumbai Indians skipper said. "At the same time, it's about building a legacy. Mumbai Indians already have an incredible legacy, but I remember when I was new—the passion, the hard work, and how the team backed me. I want that culture to continue, where players step up and play the best cricket. That's the legacy I want to leave."

Mumbai Indians have won five IPL titles (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020). Pandya himself has five titles—four with MI and one with Gujarat Titans in 2022.

Reflecting on fan support, Pandya highlighted the atmosphere during India's World Cup semifinal against England at the Wankhede Stadium. "The atmosphere we created was incredible. When fans get behind you like that, it lifts the entire team—that's exactly what I expect. The MI Paltan has always stood by the team in good and bad times."

Pandya recalled his discovery by MI scouts during a Ranji Trophy match in the 2014-15 season. "I was just a batter who worked hard. Someone noticed me out of the blue. Mumbai Indians scouts were in the stadium, not even to watch me, but luckily I did well. It speaks volumes about their scouting system—they identified I had something special."

MI's scouting network is also credited with discovering talents like Jasprit Bumrah.

MI batting coach Kieron Pollard praised the fearlessness of the team's youngsters. "The bravery and youthful exuberance these players bring is remarkable. It started when Hardik came in—larger than life, works incredibly hard, and delivers. That's what the next generation sees. When they come into our camp, they are fearless, and that's exactly what Mumbai Indians are about."
