Sri Lanka appoint Ryan van Niekerk as bowling coach

Sri Lanka Cricket has appointed Ryan van Niekerk as the national bowling coach for a two-year period, the board announced on Thursday.

Van Niekerk previously served as bowling coach and interim head coach of the Netherlands national team from 2023 to 2026. He will oversee fast bowling across all Sri Lankan national teams. During his tenure with the Netherlands, he helped guide the team through development and participation in three men's World Cups.

Additionally, Jordan Gregory has been appointed as the national fielding and spin bowling coach. Gregory previously worked as a fielding consultant for Netherlands Cricket and will be responsible for fielding and spin bowling across all national teams at the High Performance Center.

Both appointments are set to begin on April 15, 2026.
