Cummins likely to rejoin SRH on April 17
Sunrisers Hyderabad may have their bowling attack further strengthened, as there is encouraging news regarding Pat Cummins. Their designated captain could soon be available for upcoming matches.
Cummins will undergo a fitness test in Australia on Wednesday. If cleared, he is expected to return to Hyderabad on April 17. SRH play their next match at home on April 18.
Before the season, Cummins stated his aim was to play the second half of the IPL. He arrived in India on March 27 but returned to Australia after SRH's second match on April 2.
A source indicated, "Hopefully, he will clear the test and get the NOC from Cricket Australia." In Cummins' absence, Ishan Kishan has been leading the side.
Cricket Australia has been strict with NOCs for its fast bowlers. Mitchell Starc is yet to receive his, while Cameron Green's clearance was delayed. Josh Hazlewood was recently rested for workload management.
On Monday, SRH's rookie pacers Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain took four wickets each on debut. With Cummins' potential return and Eshan Malinga performing well, SRH could field a formidable fast-bowling attack.
