The official reason for his absence and the extent of his hamstring injury, sustained during Mumbai Indians' previous game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, will be revealed by the MI management during the pre-match media conference on Wednesday evening. Currently, the information indicates that the MI talisman will miss the game against Punjab Kings.
Rohit injured his hamstring during the second innings of the match against RCB and retired hurt in the sixth over of the run-chase. MI went on to lose the game, suffering their third loss of the season in four matches.
