The second T20I between Bangladesh and New Zealand in Chattogram was washed out without a ball being bowled due to incessant rain. Heavy showers lashed the stadium at the scheduled toss time and continued largely unabated, leaving match officials with little choice.

Brief hope around 2 PM local time when rain eased was short-lived as it intensified again. Overs began being reduced from 3:10 PM, with a five-over contest possible if play started by 5:16 PM. However, umpires called the match off at 4:19 PM with rain still falling.

The no-result means Bangladesh, who won the opening game, cannot lose the series. The third and final T20I will be played on Saturday (May 2) in Dhaka.
