Nahid Rana granted NOC to play in PSL final

Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Wednesday that it will provide a No-Objection Certificate to Nahid Rana to take part in the final of the Pakistan Super League.

Nahid had earlier featured in four matches for Zalmi this season before returning to Bangladesh for the ODI series against New Zealand. He was initially not cleared for a PSL return due to workload management concerns and Bangladesh's Test commitments.

The BCB later revised its stance, approving the fast bowler's participation in the final after consultations with its medical and team management units.

The board believes the exposure of playing in a high-pressure final will help the 23-year-old grow as a frontline fast bowler for Bangladesh.

In an official statement, the board said the decision was taken after assessing the player's workload, fitness and development needs.

"Considering the importance of participating in the final of a major global franchise tournament, this has been viewed as an important step in the player's continued development," BCB said.

"More importantly, the team management and medical department have cleared him, ensuring that his participation will not have any adverse impact on his fitness, workload management or availability for national duty," it added.

Nahid Rana's Peshawar Zalmi have already qualified for the PSL final, scheduled for May 3.
