Bangladesh bring in Ashiqur Rahman as interim fielding coach for Pakistan series

Bangladesh have appointed Ashiqur Rahman as interim fielding coach for the upcoming Pakistan Test series, replacing regular coach James Pamment who is sidelined with a back injury.

BCB cricket operations in-charge Shahriar Nafees confirmed to Cricbuzz that Pamment requires rehab as advised by the medical team. "It also provides us an opportunity to see one of our local coaches at international atmosphere," he added.

Ashiqur, a familiar figure among the national cricketers having worked with extended squads and development groups, joined the team's training session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Bangladesh and Pakistan have started preparations for the two-Test series, with the first Test in Dhaka on April 8 and the second in Chattogram on April 16.
