CPL teams confirm pre-draft Breakout Player retentions

All six Caribbean Premier League franchises have locked in their mandatory pre-draft Breakout Player retentions ahead of the 2026 CPL Draft.

The retained players are:

  • Antigua & Barbuda Falcons: Joshua James
  • Barbados Royals: Ramon Simmonds
  • Guyana Amazon Warriors: Quentin Sampson
  • St Kitts & Nevis Patriots: Navin Bidaisee
  • Saint Lucia Kings: Ackeem Auguste
  • Trinbago Knight Riders: Nathan Edward

Under CPL regulations, each franchise must include three Breakout Players in their final squad and field at least one in every match. The initiative provides young Caribbean cricketers exposure at the region's premier T20 competition.

With franchises restricted to one pre-draft retention from the Breakout category, focus now shifts to the CPL Draft. The 2026 season runs from August 7 to September 20.
