CSK rope in Dian Forrester as Overton replacement
Chennai Super Kings have brought in South Africa all-rounder Dian Forrester as a replacement for the injured Jamie Overton. The England all-rounder, who featured in 10 of the first 11 CSK fixtures this season and picked up 14 wickets, suffered a right thigh injury that ruled him out of the remainder of the tournament.
Forrester, who bats left-handed and bowls right-arm quick, joins CSK for INR 75 Lakh. He also played for Joburg Super Kings in the 2025-26 edition of the SA20.
The 25-year-old Forrester made his T20I debut in New Zealand in March this year. He also featured in the PSL 2026 for Rawalpindi, finishing the season with 132 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 171.42. In eight innings for JSK, Forrester made 175 runs at a strike rate of 165.09. This tally includes an unbeaten 80 off just 42 deliveries against MI Cape Town – a knock that included four fours and five sixes.
In both of those tournaments, he didn't bowl as much. In the PSL, he picked two wickets in 34 balls while in the SA20, he bowled a solitary over without a wicket. He comes in with CSK on the ascent, currently sitting fifth with 12 points. The Super Kings next face Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow on Friday (May 15).
