South Africa Women set for maiden Zimbabwe tour

South Africa Women are set to tour Zimbabwe for the first time, with the historic series scheduled for later this year. Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed that the two teams will play five T20Is in September 2026 at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.

This will be their first meeting at the senior level since a quadrangular series in South Africa in May 2017.

Zimbabwe Women last played a home series in September-October 2025 against the UAE. Since then, they have toured New Zealand and Pakistan. Zimbabwe had a poor outing in the women's T20 World Cup qualifier earlier this year in Nepal and did not qualify for the tournament in England next month.

"We are pleased to welcome South Africa Women to Zimbabwe for what promises to be a historic and exciting series," said ZC Managing Director Givemore Makoni. "South Africa are one of the strongest teams in world cricket and this tour presents our players with a valuable opportunity to test themselves against elite opposition in home conditions. This series reflects Zimbabwe Cricket's continued commitment to investing in the women's game and creating more opportunities for our players to compete at the highest level."
