Ruturaj Gaikwad replaces Riyan Parag in India A squad for tri-series

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named as replacement for Riyan Parag in the India A squad for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka, the BCCI announced on Sunday.

Parag, who was vice-captain, has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury and will undergo rehabilitation at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. He was struggling with the injury during his IPL 2026 campaign with Rajasthan Royals and missed a couple of matches.

Gaikwad will also take over as vice-captain.

The tri-series, featuring 'A' teams from Sri Lanka, India and Afghanistan, begins on June 9. Each team plays each other twice before the final on June 21. All matches at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
