New Zealand’s 2026/27 Home Summer: India Headlines Blockbuster Season

India will tour New Zealand for a massive multi-format series from October to December 2026, featuring five T20Is, five ODIs, and two Tests. This is the largest inbound tour in New Zealand history in terms of matches (12), beginning with the white-ball leg on October 22.

The two Tests will be played at Cello Basin Reserve, Wellington, and Hagley Oval, Christchurch, following the white-ball matches.

India last toured New Zealand in 2019/20 for Tests. Since then, New Zealand have visited India twice, including the 2024/25 tour where they achieved a historic 3-0 Test whitewash.

The ODI series offers New Zealand fans a rare chance to see Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in ODI cricket, the only format the two greats haven't retired from. With the ODI World Cup approaching in 2027, the five ODIs are ideal preparation.

In T20Is, the teams last met in the T20 World Cup final earlier this year. New Zealand previously toured India for eight white-ball games, winning the ODI series 2-1 but losing the T20I leg 4-1.

With players like Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah expected to tour, we’re bracing for the intensity and fandom."
