Sairaj Bahutule appointed spin bowling coach of India's senior men's team

The BCCI has appointed Sairaj Bahutule as the spin bowling coach of India's senior men's side. The appointment was confirmed on Tuesday (June 2).

"A former India international and a domestic stalwart, Mr Bahutule brings with him a wealth of experience as both a player and a coach. Over the years, he has built a strong reputation for nurturing and developing spin-bowling talent across domestic and franchise cricket," the board said.

Bahutule represented India in two Tests and eight ODIs. In his first-class career spanning 188 games, he claimed 630 wickets and scored 6176 runs.

His coaching career includes tenures as head coach of Vidarbha, Kerala, Gujarat and Bengal, and as spin-bowling coach with Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings in the IPL.

He was the bowling coach of India's Under-19 World Cup-winning team in 2022 and also worked with India A and the senior men's team. He was at the BCCI's National Cricket Academy from 2021 to 2024.

"It is a tremendous honour to be appointed as the spin bowling coach of the Indian men's team," Bahutule said. "I look forward to working with the players and supporting the team's pursuit of excellence across formats."
