Shaun Tait steps down as Bangladesh fast bowling coach

Bangladesh pace bowling coach Shaun Tait confirmed to Cricbuzz that he has stepped down from his position.

"Yes. I have stepped down," Tait told Cricbuzz without elaborating further.

Tait, whose contract ran until the 2027 ODI World Cup, joined the set-up in May 2025. He was widely credited for developing young quick Nahid Rana, who emerged as a bright star for Bangladesh due to his express pace.

Australia will tour Bangladesh from June 9 to 21 for a six-match white-ball series. The three ODIs will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on June 9, 11 and 14, followed by three T20Is in Chattogram on June 17, 19 and 21.

Former Bangladesh pacer Talha Jubair is likely to replace Tait as pace bowling coach for the Australia series.
