CA tweaks home series schedule following Champions Trophy decision

Cricket Australia has reshuffled white-ball home series against Bangladesh and New Zealand after the ICC moved the Women's Champions Trophy from June 2027 to February.

Originally, Australia were set to host Bangladesh for three ODIs and three T20Is from October 9 to 22, and New Zealand for six white-ball games next February. Under the revised plan, Bangladesh will play three ODIs and New Zealand three T20Is in October this year. The ODIs against New Zealand will be held in March, after the Champions Trophy.

"After the recent notification by the ICC about the change to the Champions Trophy dates, we've produced a revised schedule that provides the best possible outcomes for the teams and fans," said Peter Roach, CA Head of Scheduling and Cricket Operations.

A historic Day-Night ODI against New Zealand is set for March 8 at the Junction Oval in Melbourne – the first game under lights at the venue. This precedes a special Men's Test between Australia and England at the MCG from March 11, marking the 150th anniversary of the first-ever Test.

"We're particularly excited that women's cricket will feature prominently in the lead up to the 150th Anniversary Test with the historic first international match under lights at Junction Oval," Roach added. "We are thankful to Bangladesh and NZ for their cooperation – particularly NZ for agreeing to travel to Australia twice."
