He averaged 54.06, the best among those with at least 2000 runs for his country, followed by Martin Crowe (45.36). 1 – Williamson is the only captain to win the Player of the Tournament award in the ODI World Cup, doing so in 2019. He finished with 578 runs – a record tally for a captain in any edition then – until bettered by Rohit Sharma (597) in 2023.
