DC and LSG complete Pant-Kuldeep trade ahead of IPL 2027

Rishabh Pant has officially moved to Delhi Capitals for INR 15 crore, with Kuldeep Yadav heading to Lucknow Super Giants for INR 13.5 crore. The IPL confirmed the trade, first reported by Cricbuzz on May 29.

The deal returns Pant to Delhi Capitals after nine seasons (2016-2024), where he made 111 appearances — the most by any DC player — and captained the side in 43 matches.

Pant had joined LSG at the 2025 mega auction for a record INR 27 crore but managed only 269 and 312 runs in two underwhelming seasons. His captaincy stint ended with LSG finishing seventh and 10th.

Kuldeep joins LSG after taking 72 wickets in 65 matches for DC at an economy of 8.38. The left-arm wrist-spinner was retained for INR 13.25 crore ahead of the 2025 mega auction but had a poor 2026 campaign, picking 10 wickets at an economy of 10.30 — the highest of his 10-season IPL career.
