Babar Azam named Pakistan Test captain for West Indies, England tours
Shan Masood has been removed as Pakistan's Test captain for the upcoming tours of West Indies and England, with Babar Azam taking charge. Masood lost 12 of the 16 Tests he captained, with recent whitewashes against Bangladesh, Australia, and South Africa sealing his fate.
A 16-man squad has been announced for the West Indies series, with Saud Shakeel added as the 17th member for the England tour, subject to fitness. Four uncapped players are included: left-arm spinner Ali Usman, batter Muhammad Awais Zafar, pacer Ubaid Shah, and wicket-keeper batter Muhammad Ghazi Ghori.
Pakistan will play two Tests in West Indies (July 25-29 in Tarouba, August 2-6 in Port of Spain) before a three-match series in England (Leeds, Lord's, Birmingham, August 19 – September 13).
